AQUATICS

At the Y, our swim programs do a great job teaching skills like the front crawl and elementary backstroke to swimmers of all ages. But that’s not all. Our swim programs, from preschool classes to competitive swim team, are a great way to develop valuable life skills. Whether it’s the confidence that comes from learning to tread water or building positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in Y swim programs is all about creating a lifetime of health, from the inside out.

Whether just starting out in competitive swimming or a more advanced swimmer the whalers is the team for you! Swimmers who show a willing interest in training and competing will develop skills and experience what it is like to be on a team. Adult Programs

Whatever your current level of physical activity, water exercise is an excellent way to improve fitness and maintain health.  Wether it be a structured class or open time water provides the ideal environment for exercise. The natural buoyancy of water reduces weight bearing stress, allowing greater ease of movement with less impact on joints and muscles. The increased density of water creates even and fluid resistance, toning, and strengthening muscles with greater balance and efficiency.

And there's more

Our Aquatic department also offers other programs, including Gym & Swims, Special Events, Adult swim lessons, Private Swim Lessons, and of course open time for families and individuals.
