Child Care

Child Care
YMCAs are the nation’s largest provider of child care. We provide high-quality programs that are family-centered and values-based to nurture children’s healthy development. The programs are state licensed, and all staff meet or exceed licensing regulations for background checks, education and experience.

Whether your child needs preschool or school-age care, we emphasize values such as caring, honesty, respect and
responsibility. Like all Y programs, child
care is open to all, with financial assistance available.

Complete Child Care Services offered
Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for children two weeks old through 5 years old. We provide learning activities in the morning and afternoon in a safe, happy and stimulating environment. Age appropriate activities include opportunities for physical growth, emotional growth, social skills and communication, creative expression, and large/small muscle activities. We also provide for your child ages 3-5 years an education program to develop school readiness. Your child will be an active participant, learning in an
individual manner at his/her own level of
development with hands on experience,
freedom of movement and spontaneous
conversation with teachers and
classmates.

4-K Program at Hawkes Hall
The YMCA in conjunction with the Superior School District provides a site for the 4 year old kindergarten. Children can attend the 4K program if they turned four years old on or before September 1.

We follow the standards and assessments provided by the Superior School District. Our teachers provide an environment which allows your child to be an active participant with hands experiences, age appropriate activities, and freedom of movement. We foster a child’s independence and individual learning styles. Your child will be
exposed to many opportunities for physical and emotional growth, social and communication skills, creative expression, and large/small motor skills.

The program is offered Monday-Friday
from 8:30-11:30. Breakfast is served at
8:30. You may register at the YMCA
Childcare Program, 2231 Catlin Ave or
at the Board of Education, 3025 Tower Ave.
