Financial Assistance

Through the generosity of many individuals and businesses contributing to our Strong Kids Campaign and the United Way, the YMCA is able to offer scholarships for memberships and programs.

For Membership Assistance
If you are interested in receiving financial assistance for your YMCA membership you will need to apply at Northwest Community Services. This is the first step in our screening process.

Northwest Community Services is located at 1118 Tower Avenue. You will need to provide the following documents in order to have your scholarship approved:

  • Head of household’s social
    security card.
  • Proof of any and all income;
    including pay stubs for all
    household members, child
    support, financial aid, etc. You
    MUST provide proof of income
when you apply. If you do not
    bring proof of income your
    scholarship may not be
    approved.
  • Current tax information (W2
    from the prior year)
  • Current piece of mail with your
name and address shown on it.

If approved, you will receive an acceptance letter during your visit to NWCS. Please read this letter carefully as it explains the scholarship membership process.

The Superior Douglas County Family YMCA reserves the right to verify financial information as well as reserves the right to accept or deny scholarships.

If you are not approved through Northwest Community Services contact the Membership Coordinator.

For Program Assistance If you are interested in participating in a YMCA program but unable to afford the full cost of the program, fill out the attached form and bring it back to the Front Desk of the YMCA.
